I know the names of many animals and explorers’ kit

I am interested in finding out about new things

 

Core Vocabulary:

Explorer, Eskimo, habitat, binoculars, goggles, water bottle

Polar Regions: polar bear, seal, puffin, husky, penquin, moose.

The Ocean: diver, goggles, oxygen bottle etc octopus, puffa fish, crab, starfish, turtle, dolphin

The Desert: water bottle, camel, vulture, scorpion, lizard, rattlesnake, armadillo

The Rainforest: elephant, crocodile, monkey, toucan, tree frog, tiger

 

Additional Ideas:

  • Habitat Quizzes – guessing from a short description of the animal/ habitat. This game would be good for encouraging children to wait and listen while others are
  • Pairs game: turn pictures over and take it in turns to find two pictures from the same habitat. Ask why they the same – ‘ Because they both live in the Rainforest’
